KRAKOW, Poland. Aug 12 (PS) — Wisla Krakow's new foreign coach may be Dan Petrescu.
Wisla are ready to bring Petrescu back, but is he ready to come back?
As have informed by Romanian media, the 43-year-old coach has once again been offered a job at the Reymonta.
For a years work at the Krakow club the former Wisla coach will receive a salary of 300,000 euros.
The "Romanian Jose Mourinho" has already announced publicly of his breakup with Russian side FC Kuban Krasnodar, where he felt unappreciated.
"People forget that we have five wins in a row. I am very disappointed with the attitude of the supporters," he said.
"I can now go without any regret," he added more firmly.
According to Romanian media, a job offer has already been sent in by Wisla, where Petrescu had the opportunity to work in 2006. The Romanian finished second place with the Krakow club in the Ekstraklasa, progressed through the UEFA Cup group stages, and discovered such talents as Jakub Blaszczykowski.
Unfortunately, despite being dubbed by many White Star supporters "the best to ever coach Wisla", Petrescu's time at the Polish club was short lived. This was largely due to many of the Wisla first team players complaining to management about the intense training sessions Petrescu carried out.
The former Romanian international and Chelsea FC player was unimpressed with the regular Polish training normally found in Poland, which he stressed was a major issue and reason of failure for Polish teams in Europe.
Eventually, Wisla management sided with the trifling players and sacked Petrescu. Ever since, the Krakow club has yet to again advance any European cup group stage. This time, the team instead experiences difficulty playing and losing to Estonian and Azerbaijan sides in the early qualifying rounds!
After leaving Wisla Krakow under strange circumstances, Petrescu proclaimed Wisla would never accomplish anything in Europe if they were to return to their old ways - he was right.
The question now stands, is Petrescu ready to come back to Krakow and to the club that only now have realized what they were missing out on?
